Alex Abramovich spent his residency working on his forthcoming book, The History of Rock and Roll, which is under contract to Farrar, Straus & Giroux. The chapters he worked on and completed at MacDowell are ones he'd been struggling with, on and off, for the better part of a decade. His first book, Bullies, came out in 2016.

Wood Studio, given to the residency program by Mrs. Frederick Trevor Hill, was completed in 1913 in memory of Mrs. Hill’s mother, Helen Ogden Wood.
