Baolier Huang is an educator and screenwriter. Originally from Inner Mongolia, she now lives in New York. Huang is interested in exploring human connections and communication complexities. Outside of writing, Huang works at Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, helping to create learning experiences that make scientific concepts both applicable and accessible to diverse communities.

At MacDowell, Huang completed the second draft of the feature film script Heading South in collaboration with writer and director Yuan Yuan. The project-in-development won Script Service Award at HAF Film Lab, and Annual Focus Award at Shanghai International film festival.

Veltin

Baolier Huang worked in the Veltin studio.

Veltin Studio was donated by alumni of the Veltin School, a school for girls in New York with a highly respected visual arts department. As the plaque just outside the entrance attests, this studio was used by poet Edwin Arlington Robinson during most of the 24 summers he spent at MacDowell.
