C. Dale Young is the author of five books of poetry: The Day Underneath the Day (Northwestern UP 2001); The Second Person, Torn, The Halo, and Prometeo (Four Way Books 2007, 2011, 2016, and 2021) as well as a novel in stories The Affliction (Four Way Books 2018). A recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation, he received the 2017/18 Hanes Award in Poetry from the Fellowship of Southern Writers. He practices medicine full-time.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
