Carolyn Byrne is a fiction writer from Long Island, New York. She received her B.A. from Cornell University, and an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Minnesota. While at MacDowell, she worked on a draft of her first novel about a scientifically-precocious boy who attempts to save his dying Maine mill town. She received a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant in 2018.
