Daniel Heyman was honored with a 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship in fine arts and a 2009 Pew Fellowship in the Arts. Recent solo exhibitions include "Summer Fall Winter Spring" at Cade Tompkins Projects, Providence, RI; “Bearing Witness” is a national touring show seen at Brush Gallery, St. Lawrence University, NY; Linfield College Art Gallery and the White Box Gallery in Portland, OR; Laband Gallery at Loyola Marymount University, CA; List Gallery of Swarthmore College, PA; and Zilkha Gallery at Wesleyan University, CT; “Abu Ghraib Detainee Interview Project” at the DePaul University Museum in Chicago, IL and “Eye Witness” at the University of Iowa Museum of Art, Iowa City, IA. His work has been included in important group shows around the U.S. including at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Minneapolis Institute of the Arts, Rhode Island School of Design Art Museum, the Meade Museum at Amherst College, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.

The Graphics Studio (as it was originally named) was converted to its present use in 1972–1974 through a grant from the Putnam Foundation, and originally served the property as both a power house and pump house.
