I am a painter using drawing in its perceptual forms to see metaphorically around corners and down mysterious pathways to show the significance of light and darkness. My large figure works extend imagery from Antiquity. Since 1992, I have been writing about art and society. At MacDowell in 1978, 1979, 1981 the greatest gift was to engage daily with the most senior practitioners in music and art whose lifetime careers and compassion for world culture forecast my own future.
