Forest Malley is a playwright and performer from Massachusetts. His work explores memory, migration, queerness, divas, and his Arab and Jewish heritage. He was the winner of the 2024 Goldberg Play Prize for his play French Boy Cigarettes, a finalist for the 2024 Page 73 Writing Fellowship, and a finalist for the 2023 O’Neill National Playwright’s Conference for his play Gidou.
His work has been recognized and supported by Yaddo, Theater Masters, Page 73, The Bay Area Playwright’s Festival, and The American Blues Theater. He is currently a member of the SWANA Writer’s Co-Op and the Dramatist's Guild. He earned his M.F.A from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2023 and his B.A from Harvard University 2020.
At MacDowell, Malley revised and refined his play French Boy Cigarettes. It was previously developed in April 2025 in London featuring Emmy-nominated Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass in the lead role of Najla. Malley also completed a first draft of his new play, Ms. Cleary's Last Supper, which explores religious trauma and corruption. Finally, he finished a second draft of his play Sisyphus in Yaffa, which will be workshopped and developed in 2025 with Page 73 Productions.
