Francesca Fuchs was born in London and grew up in Germany. She had a solo show at the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (2007) and has been the recipient of two Artadia Awards. At MacDowell, she made 16 small sketches on cotton board and eight acrylic paintings on canvas. They are the beginning of a series that meditates on the nature of still life via the everyday objects that are left behind when someone dies. The paintings are to be part of her next solo show.
