Furen Dai is an artist based in Boston and New York. She received her B.A. in Russian language and literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and her M.F.A. from the school of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. She has presented her work at the National Art Center, Tokyo; Athens Digital Arts Festival, Greece; International Video Art Festival Now&After, Russia among others. She received public art commission from The Art Newspaper for Frieze Art Fair 2019 and Rose Kennedy Greenway in 2020.

While at MacDowell, she worked on her project "On the Future Ruin," a 3D rendered video and a series drawings concerning the future of encyclopedic museums.
