Gabrielle Reisman is a playwright and director based in New Orleans and New York. She is a founding member of Underbelly, a theatre collaborative that stages immersive journey-plays in forgotten spaces, and is the director of Brooklyn Yard. Gabrielle has taught playwriting and theatre-making at UT Austin, The Kenyon Playwrights Conference, and in New Orleans’s public schools. She was an NNPN Playwright in Residence at Southern Rep in New Orleans, the recipient of a Rosa Parks Award from The Kennedy Center, as well as Storer Boone and Austin Critics Table Awards. Gabrielle is a member of Page 73 and Bookshop workshop writer’s groups, an affiliated artist with New Georges, and resident playwright for The NOLA Project. She has developed work with The Sundance Lab, Page 73, The Orchard Project, and The Lark among others. Her first four full-lengths are published in the anthology More Pepper by Hot Lead Press. She received her M.F.A. from The University of Texas at Austin.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
