Documentarian Gustavo Vinagre has written and directed 14 short films and six features, including I Remember the Crows, The Blue Flower of Novalis, Divinely Evil, and Three Tidy Tigers Tied a Tie Tighter.

He studied literature at the University of São Paulo and screenwriting at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. His films have won more than 100 awards and have been featured twice at French magazine’s Cahiers du Cinéma.

While at MacDowell, Vinagre wrote the first treatment of the first season of a 10-episode series provisionally titled Backstage of Lust, which will star Brazilian actor Cauã Reymond. He also wrote a treatment of his new hybrid feature film provisionally titled Sometimes You Gotta Be a Little Violent.
