Harriet Clark received her B.A. from Stanford University, an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and returned to Stanford as a Wallace Stegner Fiction Fellow from 2008 until 2010. She is currently at Stanford as a Jones Lecturer in Creative Writing and is at work on a novel. At MacDowell in 2019, she completed final revisions on her first novel, You Won't Go Alone If You Go, which she originally drafted during an earlier MacDowell residency.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
