Jenny George is the author of The Dream of Reason (Copper Canyon, 2018) and After Image (Copper Canyon, 2024). She received a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg prize in 2013, is a winner of the Discovery/Boston Review Poetry Prize, and is a recipient of fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Lannan Foundation, MacDowell, and Yaddo.

Her poems have appeared in The New York Times, Poetry, Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, Narrative, Granta, Iowa Review, Orion, Los Angeles Review of Books, Poem-A-Day at poets.org, and elsewhere. She lives in Santa Fe where she works in social justice philanthropy.

During her 2025 MacDowell residency, George worked on poems for a third book. Both of her earlier collections, After Image and The Dream of Reason, were written in part at MacDowell.

Studios

New Jersey

Jenny George worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
