Joshua Myers is the author of Holy Ghost Key and Of Black Study. An associate professor of Africana Studies at Howard University, he is also founding editor of A Gathering Together: Literary Journal. He is a contributing editor at CapitalBop Magazine, a senior content producer at Africa World Now Project, and host of Regeneration, a radio show on WPFW 89.3FM in Washington, D.C.

At MacDowell, he worked on his fifth book, Black Composition, a nonfiction text that uses Black Studies as a lens to chronicle the emergence of contemporary Black composers in the improvised music world; or, jazz.
