K Ho is a writer and photographer from Vancouver, the unceded Coast Salish territories. Their work has appeared in The Margins – Asian American Writers’ Workshop, PRISM International, The Fiddlehead, THEM lit, in the Canadian National Arts Centre, and elsewhere. A graduate of the creative writing M.F.A. at the University of Minnesota, Ho has received support from VONA/Voices, Tin House, and The Anderson Center.

At MacDowell, Ho drafted and revised their novel-in-progress; completed a short research trip to Maine, where the last section of their novel is set; and conducted informal artist interviews with several residents, about which they are writing a series of short essays.

Sprague-Smith

K Ho worked in the Sprague-Smith studio.

In January of 1976, the original Sprague-Smith Studio — built in 1915–1916 and funded by music students of Mrs. Charles Sprague-Smith of the Veltin School — was destroyed by fire. Redesigned by William Gnade, Sr., a Peterborough builder, the fieldstone structure was rebuilt the same year from the foundation up, reusing the original fieldstone. A few…
