Kathy Drasher was born in Brooklyn and graduated from Middlebury College with a degree in English literature. A National Endowment for the Arts fellow, she has exhibited in solo shows in NYC and at MoMA, and received additional fellowships from The Edward F. Albee Foundation, The Pollock Krasner Foundation, The New York Foundation for the Arts, MacDowell, Yaddo, Virginia Center for the Arts, and Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. She holds an M.F.A. in painting from City University New York.

Kathy Drasher worked in the New Hampshire studio.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney. The studio was renamed in 1943. The Gilbert Verney Foundation established an endowed maintenance fund in 1990, and a bequest in memory of MacDowell Fellow Victor Candell underwrote the…
