Kendra Langford Shaw grew up on an Alaskan island and a Montana ranch. Her work has appeared in StoryQuarterly and The Antioch Review, and she is a graduate of the Helen Zell Writers' Program at the University of Michigan. She lives with her family in Billings, MT, where she is at work on her first novel, The Pillager's Guide to Arctic Pianos.

Kendra Langford Shaw worked in the Chapman studio.
Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
