Kimetha Vanderveen paints quiet abstractions that highlight perception. Her work reflects an exploration of painting as medium, and a process of careful observation and invention. Nest Drawings, an unbound folio of 42 ink drawings created during her 2011 residency, is in the permanent collection of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Her paintings are represented by the Peter Mendenhall Gallery (Pasadena, California).

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956.
