Lara Bazelon writes about the American criminal justice system. Her book, The Last Shackle: Harm, Healing and Redemption in Cases of Wrongful Conviction (Beacon Press 2018), explores how restorative justice practices, applied after an exoneration, can bring healing and serve as a call to action for reform.
