Larry Thomas received M.A. and M.F.A. degrees in printmaking and drawing from the University of Iowa. He’s been in more than 80 regional, national, and international exhibitions and in more than 70 corporate, public, and private collections, including the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art. He is a retired professor and taught for 40 years at three different colleges. He spent the last 25 years in the Fine Arts Department at Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, KS. He is represented by the Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art Gallery in Kansas City, MO.

The Graphics Studio (as it was originally named) was converted to its present use in 1972–1974 through a grant from the Putnam Foundation, and originally served the property as both a power house and pump house.
