Leah Garnett has exhibited in Canada, the US, and Germany, and attended residencies at the Fire Station Artists’ Studios (Dublin), MacDowell (Peterborough, New Hampshire), the Banff Centre for the Arts, and Struts Gallery (Sackville, NB). She received her B.A. Honors from Brown University, her B.F.A. in Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and her M.F.A. from the University of Guelph. Originally from the coast of Maine, she now lives in Sackville, New Brunswick where she is an Associate Professor in the Fine Arts Department at Mount Allison University.

At MacDowell, she worked on a series of large-scale drawings and small sculptures. Her work had been recently shown in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Toronto, Canada.

Leah Garnett worked in the Firth studio.

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956. A grand set of windows was installed to make the large interior suitable for visual artists, bringing in abundant natural light from the north.
