Lindsay Sproul, originally from Massachusetts, is a queer novelist and an assistant professor of creative writing at Loyola University New Orleans. At MacDowell, she completed the first round of edits on her debut novel, We Were Promised Spotlights, a queer coming-of-age narrative which will be published on March 24, 2020 with Putnam/Penguin Random House. Her second novel is also under contract with Putnam. Her work has appeared in such journals as Epoch, Glimmer Train, Witness, American Short Fiction, The Massachusetts Review, and others.
