Matthew Ortile is the managing editor of Catapult magazine. He has written for BuzzFeed News, Out, Into, Details, and Self. He was also the founding editor of BuzzFeed Philippines. He graduated from Vassar College, which means he now lives in Brooklyn.

At the MacDowell, he finished the first draft of his essay collection The Groom Will Keep His Name, forthcoming in summer 2020, from Bold Type Books, an imprint of Hachette.
