Matthew Siegel is the author of Blood Work, winner of the Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Blood Work was also released on CB Editions in the U.K. where it was shortlisted for The Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection by the Forward Foundation. His poems and essays have appeared in Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day, The Guardian, on PBS NewsHour, San Francisco Chronicle, the Sun, Tin House, and elsewhere.
At MacDowell, Siegel rested, wrote poems, read, edited his second collection of poetry, meditated, took baths, and started running. MacDowell allowed him to reconnect with his artistic process in a deeply nourishing environment.
