When she arrived at MacDowell, Dale Megan Healey (Megan) was at work on her first book, The Limit of the Twilight, about grief, photography, and visual culture. In residence, however, she took a break from that larger project to write a chapbook called Severances. Her experience at MacDowell reminded her that sometimes looking away from something can help one see it clearer.

Healey teaches creative nonfiction and arts writing classes at The Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons.
