Metka Krasovec is a Slovenian artist who was born in 1941 in Ljubljana. She studied painting with Professor Gabrijel Stupica and print media with Professor Riko Debenjak. In 1974, she received a British Council scholarship for graphic design studies at the Royal College of Art in London. She became an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana and was elected Associate Professor of painting and drawing. Krasovec has been a member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2015 and currently works in drawing, painting, print media, and stage design. Her works have been featured in books, catalogues, and magazines and she has participated in 151 independent and 340 collective exhibitions worldwide. She is the recipient of the Preseren Foundation Award, the Jakopic Award, and the Preseren Award for lifetime achievement.
