Michael Agresta has published fiction and non-fiction in The Atlantic, Slate, Wall Street Journal, Boston Review, Conjunctions, DIAGRAM, Salt Hill Journal, Painted Bride Quarterly, Cimarron Review, and others. He regularly covers culture and politics for The Texas Observer and writes an advice column for Austin Chronicle. His M.F.A. is from the Michener Center for Writers in Austin, Texas. He's working on a novel about contemporary ecological disaster and a short story collection about dream homes.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
