Michael Haverty is a playwright and director of experimental performance. He worked on the script and production design for an upcoming adaptation of Stephen Crane's Red Badge of Courage, performed with live actors, bunraku puppetry, paper sculpture and silhouette animation.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement.
