Science writer, poet, and former social justice lawyer Michelle Frank has received a NEH Public Scholar Award and has held a Leon Levy Center for Biography’s Sloan Fellowship and fellowships with the Arthur & Helen Whitely Center and the Consortium for History of Science, Technology and Medicine. She was co-editor/contributing author for Women in the History of Quantum Physics: Beyond Knabenphysik. She's been supported by Humanities New York, Women Writing Women’s Lives, the AIP Center for History of Physics, the CUNY Graduate Center’s Biography & Memoir Program, Sundog Poetry Center, the Ossabaw Island Writers’ Retreat, and others. Her profile on Chinese American physicist Chien-Shiung Wu and quantum entanglement was translated into multiple languages, featured in Scientific American’s Taiwan print edition, and reissued in a special edition called "Into the Quantum Realm."
At MacDowell, Frank worked on revisions for her forthcoming biography of Chien-Shiung Wu, to be published with Basic Books in the US and with Penguin/Random House’s imprint, Ebury, in the UK.
