Morgan Bassichis is a comedic performer and musician living in New York City. Their book of to-do lists, The Odd Years, was published by Wendy’s Subway in 2020. Past shows include Don't Rain On My Bat Mitzvah (Creative Time, NYC, 2021), Nibbling the Hand that Feeds Me (Whitney Museum, NYC, 2019), Klezmer for Beginners (Abrons Arts Center, NYC, 2019), and Damned If You Duet (The Kitchen, NYC, 2018).

While at MacDowell, they worked on a bat mitzvah-themed performance and album that celebrates the vibrant historical tradition of Jewish antizionism, weaving together oral histories with activists and scholars, learning songs, and comedic monologues.

Irving Fine

Morgan Bassichis worked in the Irving Fine studio.

Youngstown Studio was given to MacDowell by friends of Miss Myra McKeown in Youngstown, OH, where she promoted both art and music. It was renamed Irving Fine Studio in 1972 in honor of Irving Fine, a distinguished composer, conductor, and teacher who was a MacDowell Fellow during the 1940s and 1950s.
