Natalia Afentoulidou earned an M.F.A. from Boston University in 2012 and received the 2012 Esther B. and Albert S. Kahn Career Entry Award. She has illustrated Greek editions of Leo Tolstoy's Three Hermits and The Power of Darkness, and Elizabeth Gaskell's Ruth and in 2012 William Corbett's Elegies for Michael Gizzi.

Natalia Afentoulidou worked in the Cheney studio.

Cheney Studio was given to MacDowell by Mrs. Benjamin P. Cheney and Mrs. Karl Kauffman. Like Barnard Studio, Cheney is a low, broadly massed bungalow. Sited on a steep westward slope, its porches are supported on wooden posts and fieldstone with lattices.
