Normandy Raven Sherwood is a theatre artist: playwright, costumer, director, and performer. Her plays have been presented at many theaters, including The New Ohio Theater, The Kitchen, the 13th Street Repertory Company, Dixon Place, and Skidmore College. She creates work with two theater companies: The Drunkard's Wife (Feather Gatherers, Tiny Hornets) and the OBIE-award-winning National Theater of the United States of America (NTUSA) (Chautauqua!, The Golden Veil, Abacus Black!). In addition to being a MacDowell Fellow, she has been an artist in residence at Yaddo, the Millay Colony, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and University Settlement. Her children's book, ANIMALS vs. FURNITURE (illustrated by Jesse Hawley) was published by Ugly Duckling Presse in 2013. She is also a costume designer and has designed plays by Mac Wellman, Young Jean Lee, Tina Satter, Jim Findlay, and Faye Driscoll (Bessie Award, 2009). She is one of four curators of Little Theatre at Dixon Place and is an Affiliated Artist with New Georges. She has an M.F.A. in playwriting from Brooklyn College and she teaches in the Expository Writing Program at NYU.

Normandy Sherwood worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
