At MacDowell, translator Onder Otcu, was working on a compilation of poems by Ilhan Berk, a major modernist Turkish poet first to appear in English. The poems, which Onder translated, will be published by Talisman Publishing House in New Jersey.

Originally built near the Lower House (a building since demolished) at MacDowell's Union Street entrance, Barnard Studio was funded by Barnard College music students.
