Paul Dallas is a Canadian-American writer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn. He co-wrote the HBO docu-drama Reality, which won a 2023 Peabody Award.
His film producing credits include the documentaries Halston (CNN Films/Amazon), the 2023 NAACP Image Award winner Invisible Beauty (Magnolia Pictures) - both of which premiered at Sundance. He also produced the acclaimed indie comedy The Plagiarists (New Directors/New Films). His directorial debut is the short comedy/drama Clean Me, which premiered at the 2024 New/Next Film Festival.
His writing on film has appeared in Artforum, BOMB, Extra Extra Magazine, Filmmaker Magazine, the Village Voice, and elsewhere. He has curated film series for BAM Cinema, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Maysles Documentary Center. He is a 2022 Cannes/Gotham Producing Fellow, a 2020 Berlinale Talents alum, and a 2015 Flaherty Fellow.
While at MacDowell, Dallas completed the rough cut edit of a new short documentary film entitled Division.
