Peter Flaherty works across genres in cinema, visual art, and performance. He worked on his first feature film, Signal from Shore, which was shot in South Korea. It debuted at film festivals in 2009 and has won several "Best Short Film" awards. His virtual reality work The Surrogate was a SXSW Interactive Innovation Award Finalist.

Peter Flaherty worked in the Heinz studio.
The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
