Roberta Vacca is an Italian composer of mostly stage, chamber, and electroacoustic works that have been performed throughout Europe and elsewhere. She is also active in other positions. As a pianist, she has played throughout Italy, co-founded with Laura Miconi the Duo Pianistico Astarte in 1991 and has collaborated with the Coro Polifonico CIMA. She co-founded with Paola Campanini the troupe of musicians and puppeteers Gruppo Teatrale Burattinmusica in 1995. She has taught music theory at the Conservatorio Alfredo Casella.

Youngstown Studio was given to MacDowell by friends of Miss Myra McKeown in Youngstown, OH, where she promoted both art and music. It was renamed Irving Fine Studio in 1972 in honor of Irving Fine, a distinguished composer, conductor, and teacher who was a MacDowell Fellow during the 1940s and 1950s.
