Roger Hubeli worked in collaboration with Julie Larsen. They work on speculative projects through competitions and installations as well as built work in the architecture firm Aptum Architecture. Their work focuses on the relationship between architecture, infrastructure, and urban ecologies. Within the collaboration, Hubeli focuses on the potential of construction as a speculative methods of design. He is also an assistant professor for architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956.
