Writer Ronnie Huett is a 2018 alumnus of the CRIT writing workshop and Columbia University’s School of General Studies, and a 2022 Elizabeth George Foundation grantee. He was an Axinn Fellow in fiction at NYU, from which he graduated with an M.F.A. in creative writing in May 2023. His creative nonfiction essay Cosmic Latte was printed in The Best American Essays 2020 and The Normal School literary journal.

While at MacDowell, Huett made significant progress on his first novel.

Irving Fine

Ronnie Huett worked in the Irving Fine studio.

Youngstown Studio was given to MacDowell by friends of Miss Myra McKeown in Youngstown, OH, where she promoted both art and music. It was renamed Irving Fine Studio in 1972 in honor of Irving Fine, a distinguished composer, conductor, and teacher who was a MacDowell Fellow during the 1940s and 1950s.
