Samin Nosrat is a cook, teacher, and author of the James Beard Award-winning New York Times Bestseller Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat (worked on during her 2014 MacDowell Fellowship). She is an Eat columnist at The New York Times Magazine, host and an executive producer of the Netflix original documentary series based on her book, and is the co-host of the Home Cooking podcast. She was named the 2018 Eater Chef of the Year and one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2019.

While at MacDowell in 2023, she worked on the manuscript for her second book, Good Things.

Mansfield

Samin Nosrat worked in the Mansfield studio.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club.
