Sarah Thankam Mathews is the author of the critically acclaimed novel All This Could Be Different, which was shortlisted for the 2022 National Book Award. Mathews has been published in the Los Angeles Review of Books, New York Magazine, the New York Times, and Best American Short Stories. In 2020, Mathews founded the Brooklyn-based mutual aid collective Bed-Stuy Strong.

Sarah Thankam Mathews worked in the Veltin studio.

Veltin Studio was donated by alumni of the Veltin School, a school for girls in New York with a highly respected visual arts department.
