Seth Harp is an investigative journalist and foreign correspondent who has reported from Iraq, Syria, Mexico, and elsewhere for publications including Harper's, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Intercept, and Columbia Journalism Review. At MacDowell, he wrote a feature on a plague of unsolved femicides on the outskirts of Mexico City. The article was published in the March 2020 issue of Harper's Magazine.



Seth Harp worked in the Wood studio.

Wood Studio, given to the residency program by Mrs. Frederick Trevor Hill, was completed in 1913 in memory of Mrs. Hill’s mother, Helen Ogden Wood. Like Schelling Studio, the building is sided with large, overlapping pieces of hemlock bark.
