Shelley Wong is a poet and an affiliate artist at Headlands Center for the Arts. Her poems have appeared in American Poetry Review, Gulf Coast, Kenyon Review, Massachusetts Review, and The New Republic. She has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from Kundiman, Vermont Studio Center, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, and I-Park Foundation. Her first book, As She Appears, which she made progress on at MacDowell, won the 2019 Pamet River Prize and is forthcoming from YesYes Books in spring 2022.

Studio — built in 1911–1912 — was the first studio given to the
residency by an outside organization. To this day, Alpha Chi sorority
pledges learn the story of Star Studio and its role in supporting
