While at MacDowell, Suzanne Rivecca worked on a novel, The Habitants, about Walt Whitman in New Orleans. Her debut book of short stories, Death is Not an Option, was released in July 2010 from W. W. Norton & Company. She is the recipient of a 2010 NEA grant in prose.
