Thaisa Way is a historian of landscape and architecture, most interested in urban designs and projects. She completed her book on Richard Haag and the design of urban postindustrial landscapes. Her first book, Unbounded Practice: Women and Landscape Architecture in the early 20th century, won the JB Jackson Award by the Landscape Studies Foundation.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
