Vimi Bajaj is both a physician and a fiction writer, having graduated from the Bennington Writing Seminars. While she is currently working on a novel based in her native India, her other works have been published in journals such as Dr. T.J. Eckleburg Review, The Asian American Literary Review, The Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology, and others.

While at MacDowell, Vimi wrote the last seven chapters of her novel-in-progress tentatively titled Vermilion. A previous version of the novel won the 2020 Books Pipeline Competition Grand Prize in literary fiction. After MacDowell, she plans to undertake the final revisions.
