Chapon is a French artist and filmmaker whose work blends archival footage, CGI, and staged testimonies to explore how individuals and communities reclaim narratives of trauma. Following the screening of two of his films, Chapon discussed his process of integrating 3D animation and video game elements to explain documentary story telling. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the artistic and technical aspects of his work. The visit concluded with a studio tour and time in the main hall, providing students with a deeper understanding of MacDowell’s residency program and creative community.
