Painter Julia Jacquette Responds to Rage in Her Current Work

Julia Jacquette (95, 96, 98, 13, 15) is an American artist based in New York City and Amsterdam. Her work has been shown extensively at galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art (NY), The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Wellin Museum (Clinton, NY) and The RISD Museum among other institutions.

For this installment of “We Are Here,” Julia has provided this one-minute video, How Do I Make Paintings About Rage? Created in conjunction with husband Daniel Carlson. It provides a look into Julia’s current practice, which draws inspiration from her students' work, and has been shaped by the limitations that working in isolation has imposed on it.

Fellow Julia Lacquette stands at a desk in her studio. On the wall behind her are many sketches and drawings
