Paul La Farge Fellowship
Established in 2023
This Fellowship was established by MacDowell Fellow Paul La Farge’s family and friends to honor his hope that a Fellowship be created for an early-career fiction writer. Paul felt that MacDowell gave him a chance at that point in his own career and had been grateful for it ever since. Paul was in residence in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2014. Much loved and respected by his colleagues and peers, he was a writer and educator who published five novels, as well as many essays, short stories, and reviews.
