New Jersey Studio

Completed in 1921

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913). The studio’s porch rests on fieldstone piers that increase in height as the ground slopes to the west.

Like Monday Music Studio, New Jersey Studio is fronted by a porch composed of Doric posts and baluster rail on the north side of the studio. The simple interior of the studio is finished with a small brick fireplace with a corbeled mantel, and pine paneling left natural below the chair-rail molding.

Renovated in 2000, the interior space was improved by the removal of an acoustic tile ceiling, the addition of indirect lighting, and an expansion of the bathroom.
