Alanna Schubach's debut novel, The Nobodies, was published by Blackstone on June 21, 2022. Her short fiction has appeared in Shenandoah, the Sewanee Review, the Massachusetts Review, Electric Literature, and more. She was an Emerging Writer Fellow with the Center for Fiction and a Fellow in Fiction with the New York Foundation for the Arts. She earned an M.F.A. in fiction from Sarah Lawrence College. She lives in New York, where she works as a freelance journalist and writing teacher.

music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built from
1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds. The
small studio is very simple in design, but displays a pleasing
combination of materials with its granite walls and colorful slate
roofing.
